Day 16 Mist rolling in from the sea, my desire

Saddel Bay

Walk away from Saddel Abbey, cross the road with the hump back bridge, walk down the wooded lane, past Saddel castle and you will have reached Saddel Bay.

Saddel castle itself is almost on the beach, and looks stunning in good weather photographs as well. It can even be booked for a holiday

If you find yourself in Argyll and Bute, and more specifically in Kintyre, you will have heard someone or another mention the song ‘Mull of Kintyre’, and that is after you yourself were singing it each time the word Kintyre popped up. We never quite made it to the Mull, or headland, of the penisnula Kintyre. But, we did something better, we visited the beach where the video clip was filmed. It was within walking distance of Saddel Abbey, and what else would we find when we arrived there there, but mists rolling in from the sea.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAIf you watch the clip you can see Saddel castle in the background towards the end of the ramblng story that mcCartney tells

But even more than being on the beach of that famous song, I enjoyed the athmospheric vista, enhanced by a lone statue staring into the mist
